The overall performance of any system is determined by its weakest part. Constraint analysis is the discipline of identifying that limiting element—and focusing your energy there, not everywhere.
Constraint Analysis
System → Identify Bottleneck → Exploit Constraint → Improve Flow → Repeat. Based on the Theory of Constraints, fixing a non-bottleneck improves nothing at the system level.
A SaaS company has 1,000 visitors → 50 signups → 5 customers. The constraint is not traffic — it’s the conversion rate. Doubling ad spend won’t help. Fixing the signup flow will.
Choose a system you operate in (business, studying, personal productivity).
Step 1 — List the stages of the system. Example: Traffic → Leads → Sales → Delivery
Step 2 — Identify where the flow slows down. At which stage do most inputs fail to move forward?
Step 3 — Imagine improving that stage by 50%. How would the entire system change?
